The property.

A traditional Swedish log built red house, originally from 1860 with an extension made in the 1960s. All based in the village of Blomstermåla, just 5min walk from the river Asterån, 10 mins drive to the lake of Honsö and 20 mins drive from the Nature reserve of Oknö with the possibility to swim and walk and over 100km of cycle paths in the area.

You are only a 30 mins drive to the county`s capital Kalmar with the bridge the very famous island of Öland and also 30 mins drive to the second biggest town on the east coast - Oskarshamn, with ferry links to Gotland both with good shopping is also a good bus connection to both Kalmar and Oskarshamn plus a direct train link from Blomstermåla to Kalmar central. The local bus stop is 3 mins walk from the house.

In Blomstermåla, there is COOP, doctors, schools and a train station.

The plot and the garage.
 
The house is on a plot of 2400sqm with its own well, a garden with 7 fruit trees, gooseberry, red current, raspberry, black berry bushes, perennial flowers and established garden beds. There are 2 patios to sit, one south facing with an awning and one northwest facing under a roof.
 
There is a parking place for 2 cars in front. At the back, there is a garage for 1 car with a little workshop at the back and behind the workshop there is a big store room for bikes and other stuff. There is water, heating and electricity in the garage.

There is a cellar under a part of the house that houses the heating system accessible from the outside via a separate door.’

The house.
 
The house sits on a stone and concrete foundations. The downstairs floors were all insulated from the underneath (apart from the living room where the original parquet floor was kept). The floors upstairs were insulated and have new flooring (apart from the main bedroom where the original floorboards were repaired and painted). All the walls of the house were insulated apart from the east facade. The house has been rewired, has new radiators and pipes (Heating via a Rock heat pump) plus new hot, cold water pipes, the house is connected to the municipal sewage. The roof tiles are cement and in very good condition with new guttering installed in 2021. The whole roof has been insulated from the inside. The majority of the facade was repaired and painted with acrylic paint apart from the east facade. There are new patio doors, a kitchen and a bathroom window (triple-glazed), and all the others (double-glazed) have been renovated. The inner doors are all new apart from the doors to the downstairs bedroom and main bedroom, the only original doors that survived. The house is very sunny and warm due to the new heating and its orientation.

Inside.

The entrance to the house is from the north via steps to the front patio and the main door. The hall has a high ceiling. The hallway displays a mosaic of all the original wallpapers found in the house, framed with wood and plastic glass to show the character. There is a big wardrobe for hanging and storing clothes, a bench to sit and 2 shoe racks. To the right there is the first bedroom (3.2x3,1m), north and west orientated with double aspect windows.
 
To the left there is the door to the living room (5,40x4,10m) with the original double-aspect windows, original oak parquets that were restored and oiled and a functional kakelugn (tiled fireplace). From the living room there is a double patio door to the south patio and garden and a double door leading to the kitchen.
 
The kitchen is spacious (5,10x3,90m) with Ikea cabinets (half of them bought in 2023 to engage the kitchen), and the original wooden panels on the wall in the dining section and a new wooden is a dining table that can sit 6 people and a little writing table. There is a small pantry and a door to the little laundry leading out to the garden via the back door.
 
From the entrance hallway, there is a staircase upstairs to a spacious landing (3x2,90m) leading to 2 bedrooms and a bathroom. On the landing there are 2 wardrobes and a cupboard and also a door leading to the balcony.

The main bedroom (3.20 x 4,20m) has storage built-in the eaves, original floorboards and an east-facing window.

Bedroom no. 3 (3x4,10m) is completely renovated, new wooden floor, insulated with a west-facing window.

Bathroom has a freestanding bathtub, sink and a toilet.
 
The house has a very positive energy as it was renovated with love, it is nice, cosy and warm, sunny and good neighbours.

The house is connected to the fibre network with all the boxes fitted, and ready for the WiFi router from the provider of your choice.

In the garden there is a large shed of 25sqm with a pitched roof that will need to be built. The house is located outside the building control zone, so planning is not required, but you still need to inform the local commune office of the fact.

There is also a 1000ltr water tank which is currently filled via a pump from the well, it is also possible to connect the tank to the guttering system and also collect the rain water from the rear of the house.
